Rincon Puerto Rico Wedding Ideas: Taino Centerpieces

We have lots of brides who are going to have a destination wedding in Puerto Rico that are looking for a way to incorporate some Puerto Rican traditions or native touches into their decor or ceremonies.  This was one of my favorite centerpiece settings from a bride last winter.  We found a ceramic plate with a engraved Taino Indian symbol on it (the Taino Indians are the native inhabitants of Puerto Rico) to add a special touch to the centerpiece.

The plate looked almost like stone and was engraved very simply with the symbol – it was a very rustic touch that was still simple enough to use on a centerpiece and not distract too much from the overall look and feel of the table.  The red orchids on the napkins added a nice pop of color.

I thought this was a great way to incorporate Puerto Rico into the wedding and was something very unique that you probably wouldn’t have seen at any other wedding.

Here is a picture of the Taino centerpiece from the Rincon destination wedding:

This is a really good way to incorporate Puerto Rico into your wedding. It is sometimes hard to find local traditions or native things to work with and this was a great way to give a nod to the traditions of the island.
