24 Mar The Boricua Flashlight: Cool Island Wedding Favors
Decor and Favors for a Rincon Puerto Rico Wedding
If you”re looking for something so cool and island-y that your guests are sure to never have seen it before, check out the “boricua flashlights”, handmade right here in Rincon. Our friend Chris Gallagher makes all of these “flashlights” himself and with the way people love their rum on the island I”m sure he has no problem finding an excess of bottles to make them out of
Less a flashlight and more of a really cool looking lamp or candle holder, the boricua flashlight is made out of liquor (usually rum, but many varieties) bottles that have been cut and mounted to wood and straps for hanging detedslot or a wood base. These make great guest favors or decor for the ceremony or reception. They have that rustic ocean feel and the Puerto Rican rum bottles really make them unique.
Recently, Chris has started converting his standard vases into candle lamps. He has a 3″ high floor lamp in white, as well as a red floor lamp but that is 2 1/2″ high, both on red mahogany bases. 99% of the wood used is red mahogany with the occassional piece of cedar. He can also make vases for a table display, in clear, green, mutli-coloured and red.
To order a Boricua flashlight for your wedding or just as a memory of Puerto Rico, email Chris. For more information about planning your wedding in Rincon or about booking a Rincon PR wedding coordinator, be sure to fill out our Bid Request form or call Sarah directly to talk about options.
